Established in 1941, The Mayhew School Of Dance & Performing Arts provides outstanding training in the performing arts for pupils of all ages and abilities. The School Show and Performances

We hold a biannual school show where all our pupils can demonstrate their talents to the full, as well as smaller annual concerts to provide more opportunities to perform, usually in more informal settings. Selected pupils also have the opportunity to participate in local festivals and, if successful, at regional and national events.

In recent years, pupils have been selected to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in the prestigious Dance Proms, a collaboration by the RAD, ISTD, and IDTA, which showcases the best of dance with performers from around the world. In 2019, our senior pupils were chosen to perform at U.Dance 2019 at the Southbank Centre, London.

Examinations and Future Prospects

Pupils are entered for RAD and ISTD dance examinations. The school holds a 100% pass rate with both boards in all disciplines. Drama pupils may also enter for examinations through ESB or LAMDA.
